Account Ownership

Who owns a MeisterTask account?

All our accounts here at Meister are owned by the owner of the email address who has registered on MeisterTask. When signing up, the user registering automatically becomes the owner of that account and all data in it. 

Accounts can only have one single owner, however, you can manage your team and change their settings related to the team. As a company, we are legally responsible to the account owner only. This is also why we won't let other people take over your account without your permission. In case you decide to transfer ownership of your account or single projects within your account, reach out to our Customer Success team, using your account email address, and we will be happy to assist you further.


Unavailability of the account owner

This can happen for a number of reasons, such as someone leaving the company or going on a sabbatical. As mentioned above, our responsibilities lie with the account owner, therefore we would be unable to transfer the account or give any other information without the owner's permission. 

In any case, we recommend contacting the current account owner. Ask them to log in and contact us through their account's support page.

Legal steps about intellectual property of the respective company need to be resolved between employer and employee. We will of course adhere to any legal decisions through arbitration or court ruling and turn the data over to the respective party.
