This feature is available to all users.
You can create, view and edit notes directly in the MeisterTask app. Offline viewing is possible for notes and pages you have previously loaded when online. Note that you cannot restore or delete notes from within the mobile apps.
View a Note
To view notes or pages in your MeisterTask app:
- Tap the note icon at the bottom of your screen to open the Notes tab.
- Tap on a note to view it.
- Use the search bar at the top of your screen to find a specific note or page by title.
Tip
Pages containing sub-pages have an arrow > beside their name. Tap this to expand the page.
Create a Note
To create a new note in the MeisterTask app:
- Tap the note icon at the bottom of your screen to open the Notes tab.
- Tap New Note.
Tips
- Notes are organized into Note Groups > Notes > Pages > Sub-Pages. Read here to learn more about these hierarchies.
- If you have a large number of notes, you might find it helpful to organize them into groups. To group notes, please switch to the browser version of MeisterTask.
- By default, newly created notes are private and can only be viewed by you. To share a note with your team or other collaborators, please switch to the browser version of MeisterTask.
Create a Page or Sub-Page
To create a new page within a note:
- Tap the note icon from the home screen.
- Tap the (...) icon.
- Select New Page.
- The new page appears below.
To create a new sub-page within a page:
- Tap the (...) icon next to an existing page.
- Select New Page to create a sub-page.
- The sub-page appears below.
Edit a Note or Page
Notes aren't like a traditional word processor. In MeisterTask, your content is split into blocks which can be formatted depending on the type of content you want to create. There are over 15 different block styles: headers, to-do lists, images, code snippets and more.
To create and format text:
- Start typing to create a new content block.
- Tap the Aa button to view formatting options such as bold, underline, or highlight.
- Choose the desired formatting option.
To insert a block in a specific format:
- Tap the + button to open the block menu.
- Choose the block type you want to insert.
To switch a content block to a different style:
- Select the block you want to change.
- Tap the 🔄 button to view all block options.
- Choose a different style to apply it to the block.
View Tables on Mobile
Tables created on desktop are visible on the iOS and Android apps, but cannot be edited or deleted on mobile.
To edit or delete a table, switch to the browser version of MeisterTask.
Discussions and Comments
Discussions allow team members to exchange ideas without directly editing shared notes. Note Content Managers, Contributors, Commenters and Viewers can view discussions. Content Managers, Contributors and Commenters can add, reply to and resolve discussions.
View discussions
To view a note's open discussions:
- Tap the discussions icon in the top right corner.
- Tap the discussion thread you want to view.
Add a comment or start a new discussion
To reply to an existing discussion:
- Tap the discussions icon in the top right corner.
- Tap the discussion thread you want to reply to.
- Type your comment in the Reply box.
- Tap the Send icon.
To start a new discussion:
- Tap the text you want to start a discussion on.
- Tap Add a comment.
- Type your comment in the Reply box.
- Tap the Send icon.
Editing comments
It is not possible to edit comments on the mobile app. To edit a comment, switch to the web version.
Resolve a discussion
Resolve a discussion to remove it from your note's list of open discussions:
- Open the discussion.
- Tap the Resolve icon in the top-left corner of the discussion window.
Restore a resolved discussion
Resolved discussions are stored indefinitely and can be restored at any time. Currently, it is not possible to restore a discussion from within the mobile app. To restore a resolved discussion, please switch to the browser version of MeisterTask.
Archive or Delete Pages or Notes
Currently, it is not possible to archive or delete a page or note from within the iOS or Android app. To archive or delete a note or page, please switch to the browser version of MeisterTask.
