Notes on Android/iOS

This feature is available to all users

 

You can create, view and edit your notes directly in the MeisterTask app. 

Offline viewing is possible for notes and pages that you have previously viewed and loaded when online. 


View a Note

To view notes or pages in your MeisterTask app:

    1. Tap the note icon at the bottom of your screen to open the Notes tab.
    2. Tap on a note to view it.
    3. Use the search bar at the top of your screen to find a specific note title or page title.

Tip

Pages containing sub-pages have an arrow > beside their name. Tap this to expand the page.


Create a Note

To create a new note in the MeisterTask app:

  1. Select the note icon at the bottom of your screen to open the Notes tab.
  2. Select New Note.

Tips

- Notes are organized into Note Groups >Notes > Pages > Sub-Pages. Read here to learn more about these hierarchies.
- If you have a large number of notes, you might find it helpful to organize them into groups. To group notes, please switch to a desktop version of MeisterTask.
- By default, newly created notes are private and can only be viewed by you. However, you can choose to share notes with your team or other collaborators. To share a note, please switch to a desktop version of MeisterTask.


Create a Page or Sub-Page 

To create a new page within a note:

  1. Select the Note icon from the home screen.
  2. Tap the (...) icon.
  3. Select New Page to create a new first-level page.
  4. The new page is available below.

To create a new sub-page within a page:

  1. Tap the (...) icon next to an existing page.
  2. Select New Page to create a sub-page.
  3. The sub-page is available below.

Edit a Note or Page

Notes aren't like a traditional word processor. In MeisterTask, your content is split into blocks which can be formatted depending on the type of content you want to create.

There are over 15 different styles of content block: you can format text as headers, to-do lists, images, code snippets and much more.

 

To create new text and format text:

  1. To create a new content block, simply start typing.
  2. To format your text, select the Aa button to view all options, such as bold, underline, or highlight.
  3. Choose the desired formatting option.

To create a new content block in a specific block format:

  1. Select the + button to view the block options.
  2. Choose the block you want to insert.

To switch from one content block to another:

  1. Select the block you want to change.
  2. Select the 🔄 button to view all block options.
  3. Choose a different block to change the current block's style.

View and Add a Comment

Discussions allow team members to exchange ideas without directly editing shared notes.

Note Administrators, Members, Commenters and Viewers can view discussions.

To view a note's open discussions:

  1. Select the discussions icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select the discussion thread you want to view.

Note Administrators, Members and Commenters can add or reply to a comment.

To add a comment to an existing discussion:

  1. Select the discussions icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select the discussion thread you want to view.
  3. Type your comment in the Reply box.
  4. Tap the Send icon.

Warning

It is not possible to edit comments on the mobile app. To edit a comment, head to the web version.


Add a New Discussion

To start a new discussion:

  1. Tap the text you wish to start a discussion on.
  2. Tap on Add a comment.
  3. Type your comment in the Reply box.
  4. Tap the Send icon.

Resolve a Discussion

Note Administrators, Members, and Commenters can resolve discussions.

Resolve discussions to remove them from your note's list of open discussions. To do this:

  1. Open a discussion.
  2. Click the Resolve icon in the top-left corner of the Discussion window.

Restore Resolved Discussions

Resolved discussions are stored indefinitely and can be restored at any time.

Currently, it is not possible to restore a discussion from within the mobile app. To restore a resolved discussion, please head to the browser version of MeisterTask.
