Import Projects from Asana

To import your existing projects and tasks from Asana, first go to the MeisterTask dashboard and click the (+) button at the top of the project list. Select Import from Asana... from the menu.

You will then be prompted to select an Asana CSV file for import. That's it! Now you can continue working on your projects right in MeisterTask.

.csv Files Need to be Encoded in UTF-8 Format

If the import fails please make sure the .csv file is encoded in UTF-8 format.

For Windows, this can be done using Notepad.

  1. Open the file using Notepad
  2. From the File menu select Save As.
  3. From the encoding drop-down menu select UTF-8.

For Mac/Linux you can use the iconv tool to convert.

E.g. iconv -f ISO-8859-1 -t UTF-8//TRANSLIT import_with_bad_encoding.csv -o import_with_utf8.csv

Note

Avoid editing the file in Excel, as saving it using Excel will always use the wrong encoding.

Note

Attached you will find a .csv example of how the file should look like. If the format is respected you can also add your own tasks to import them directly.
