Home: Your New Central Hub

The new Home in MeisterTask is a central hub for all your tasks and notifications. With tasks sorted by due date, a unified notification thread, and quick access to the search function, it will make managing your work more straightforward.

Overview

The new Home in MeisterTask provides a personalized overview of all important tasks and all notifications.

To access Home, click the Home icon in the left sidebar. Home includes:

Search: Find recent content or perform a full search across projects, tasks, or notes. This functionality is the same as the Search feature in the left sidebar.
My Tasks: View tasks assigned to you or pinned by you in order of due date.
Notifications: Stay up-to-date with a new, unified notification feed covering all project and notes in one place.
Sidebar: Access your Projects, pinned tasks in the Agenda, Reports, and Notes.

Search

Enter your search term or phrase in the field beside the magnifying glass to search all projects, tasks, notes and pages that you have access to.

My Tasks

The My Tasks section displays a list of your most important tasks, organized by due date, along with task name, project name, pin icon and assignee.

My Tasks includes:

Tasks assigned to you.
Tasks pinned to your Agenda:
The My Tasks section on Home also includes tasks that you have been pinned to the Agenda. These pinned tasks will appear even if they are not directly assigned to you, making it easier to track tasks you’re monitoring or collaborating on.
- Users on the Basic plan can pin tasks to the Focus area in their Agenda.
- Users on the Pro or Business plan can create and customize their Agenda and pin tasks to any section.

My Tasks provides a comprehensive overview of all tasks you are involved in, ensuring you never miss a deadline.

Click on any task in the list to view its details, make changes, or add comments.

Notifications

Notifications are personalized and relevant messages used to communicate critical information or updates in real time.

To view notifications from any project, task or note, click on the Home icon in the left sidebar.

How is Home different from the old dashboard?

My Tasks: The new Home provides an overview of your most important tasks, sorted by due date. It is currently not possible to sort tasks by name or project. It is not possible to display tags.
Search: The current Search functionality is now easily accessible from Home.
Notifications: A new unified notification feed includes notifications for Tasks, Projects, and Notes, all in one place.
Time Tracking: The access to the Time Tracking feature via the icon has been removed for now due to low usage from Home. You can still use Time Tracking by selecting a task from the task list and clicking the play button.
Background Customization: You can still customize the background the same way as on the old dashboard. However, features like the Notification feed and My Tasks cannot be toggled on or off, unlike in the previous version.
Motivational Quote: The quote has been removed to provide more space for current and upcoming features on the Home page.
My Checklist: At the moment, the checklist functionality is not available on Home yet. You can still access all checklist items:
1. Open any Project, or the Agenda, or a Report.
2. Click the Checklist icon for My Tasks in the top-right corner to view all your checklist items.

Where is my Checklist?

At the moment, the Checklist functionality is not yet available from the Home page. However, you can still access all your checklist items by following these steps:

Open any Project, OR the Agenda OR a Report.
Click the My Tasks icon in the top-right corner to view all your checklist items.

Coming Soon

Improved My Tasks list: New features will include filtering options and quick actions, allowing users to change task assignees and due dates directly from the My Tasks section.
My Checklist: The existing Checklist functionality will soon be available in the new Home, allowing you to view and manage your checklist items directly from Home.
