Home: Your New Central Hub

This feature is available for all users.


The new Home in MeisterTask is a central hub for all your tasks and notifications. It offers quick access to both the search feature and all your small to-dos in the Checklist.

Overview

The new Home in MeisterTask provides a personalized overview of all important tasks and all notifications.

To access Home, click the Home icon in the left sidebar. Home includes:

  1. Search: Find recent content or perform a full search across projects, tasks, or notes. This functionality is the same as the Search feature in the left sidebar.
  2. My Tasks: View tasks assigned to you or pinned by you. All tasks are pre-sorted by due date. 
  3. Notifications: Stay up-to-date with a new, unified notification feed covering all project and notes in one place.
  4. My checklist: Here you can see your usual checklist with all the entries.
  5. Sidebar: Access your Projects, pinned tasks in the Agenda, Reports, and Notes.

Search

Enter your search term or phrase in the field beside the magnifying glass to search all projects, tasks, notes and pages that you have access to.

Tasks

The Tasks section displays a list of your most important tasks, organized by due date, along with task name, project name, pin icon and assignee.

Tasks includes:

  • Tasks assigned to you.

  • Tasks pinned to your Agenda:
    The My Tasks section on Home also includes tasks that you have been pinned to the Agenda. These pinned tasks will appear even if they are not directly assigned to you, making it easier to track tasks you’re monitoring or collaborating on.
    • Users on the Basic plan can pin tasks to the Focus area in their Agenda.
    • Users on the Pro or Business plan can create and customize their Agenda and pin tasks to any section.

This section provides a comprehensive overview of all tasks you are involved in, ensuring you never miss a deadline.

Filter tasks

Filtering helps you quickly find the relevant tasks on your home page:

  • View only your own tasks at a glance.

  • Focus on tasks from a specific column in the Agenda.

Notifications

Notifications are personalized and relevant messages used to communicate critical information or updates in real time.

To view notifications from any project, task or note, click on the Home icon in the left sidebar.

My Checklist 

Use the personal checklist to note down very small or personal tasks that are not included in any project.

This is how you create your checklist:

  1. Open the Home page.
  2. Click on + Add item to add items to your checklist.
  3. Enter the text and press the enter key.
  4. When you have taken care of a checklist item, click the circle to remove the item from your list. This will make the checklist item disappear. Please note that you will no longer be able to see it.

Please note that once you check off a checklist item, it is no longer visible and cannot be retrieved later. Therefore, think carefully about whether you want to mark an item as completed or not before you do so.

At this time, you cannot yet delete or reorder (drag and drop items) in this checklist. This feature will be available soon.

How is Home different from the old dashboard?

  • My Tasks: The new Home provides an overview of your most important tasks, sorted by due date. It is not possible to sort tasks by name or project. It is not possible to display tags.
  • Search: The current Search functionality is now easily accessible from Home.
  • Notifications: A new unified notification feed includes notifications for Tasks, Projects, and Notes, all in one place.
  • Time Tracking: The access to the Time Tracking feature via the icon has been removed for now due to low usage from Home. You can still use Time Tracking by selecting a task from the task list and clicking the play button.
  • Background Customization: You can still customize the background the same way as on the old dashboard. However, features like the Notification feed and My Tasks cannot be toggled on or off, unlike in the previous version.
  • Motivational Quote: The quote has been removed to provide more space for current and upcoming features on the Home page.

Improved Checklist:

  • You will soon be able to delete or rearrange items in this Checklist.
  • You will soon be able to convert checklist items into tasks.
