Yes, Viewer seats are always free of charge. However, the Viewer role in projects may be assigned independently of whether the user has a paid seat.
Viewer seat
- Cost: Always free.
- Access: Users with this role can only view content across the system. They cannot make any changes to project, tasks or notes. Users with the product seat Viewer can only be Viewers in any project or note.
- How to assign: Team Admins can assign the Viewer role as a product seat in the Accounts page.
Viewer project role

- The cost of the Viewer role at this level depends on the user’s product seat.
- Examples:

Example a:
- A user has a Content Manager seat, because the user has its own projects to manage.
At the same time, another project manager adds the user to a different project as a Viewer, so that the user can stay up to date in that project. - In this case, the user has the Viewer role in that specific project, but still needs a paid seat to be able to manage his/her own projects.
- A user has a Content Manager seat, because the user has its own projects to manage.

- A user with the free Viewer product seat is unpaid.
- Therefore, the user is assigned the Viewer role in any projects or notes.

- Access: This role limits users to viewing only specific projects or notes. They cannot edit anything in a specific project or note.
- How to assign: Content Managers can assign the Viewer role in the project or notes settings.
