Important: Please do not create a new account—doing so may overwrite your previous data or prevent the recovery of your old projects and mind maps.
Why Your Account Was Deactivated
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), specifically the principle of Storage Limitation (Art. 5(1)(e)), Meister does not store personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
- Inactivity Period: Accounts are flagged for deactivation after 24 months of continuous inactivity.
- Purpose: This measure ensures your data remains secure and helps us maintain a compliant, minimized data environment.
- Notification: Before deactivation, we send a notification to your registered email address with a deadline to log in. If no action is taken, the account is deactivated.
Permanent Deletion Notice & Deadlines
Please be aware of our final deletion policy and critical deadlines:
- 30-Day Recovery Window: Once an account is deactivated, it enters a 30-day grace period before it is purged from our systems.
- Reactivation Deadline: To ensure our team has sufficient time to process your request before the data is permanently erased, you must submit your reactivation request at least 10 days before the 30-day window expires.
- Permanent Erasure: If a request is not received by this deadline, the account and all associated information—including projects, mind maps, and personal data—will be permanently and irreversibly deleted. This ensures we fulfill our legal obligation to erase data that is no longer in use.
How to Reactivate Your Account
If you are within the recovery window, follow these steps:
- Open the Account Reactivation Form.
- Fill in the email address associated with your Meister account.
- Submit the form. Our team will verify your identity and reactivate your account.

How to Keep Your Account Active
To prevent future deactivation, simply log in periodically to any Meister product (MeisterTask or MindMeister). Logging in resets the inactivity timer and ensures your data is retained.
