These features are available to all users.
Stay up to date on projects and tasks which need your attention with in-app notifications and e-mail notifications. All notification settings can be changed on the Preferences page.
Mobile users can also set up push notifications to receive reminders before a task's due date.
In-App Notifications
You can view your in-app notifications feed by clicking the bell icon in the top-right corner of MeisterTask:
You'll receive an in-app notification whenever:
- You are invited to collaborate on a project
- A task is assigned to you
- Another user mentions you in a comment or checklist item
- A change is made to a task you are watching
- A checklist item is added to a task you were assigned
- Another user comments on a task you were assigned to or are watching
- Another user reacts to a comment or activity of yours
Please note that you will only receive a notification if someone else invites you, assigns you a task, or creates an automation for you. For example, you won't get a notification if you assign the task to yourself.
Due Date Notifications
Due date notifications are sent via e-mail. You can also set up push notifications on MeisterTask mobile to be reminded before a task's due date. See below for more details.
Manage the In-App Notification Feed
Click the bell icon in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface to open your in-app notification feed. From here, you can view, open, clear and adjust viewing options for your in-app notifications. See below for more details:

Click any notification to open the task that it refers to:

To mark a notification as read, hover your mouse over the notification icon (on the left) until it turns into an X, then click on it.

To toggle between displaying all notifications or only unread notifications, click the small arrow next to the Notifications header, then click the switch next to "Show All."
- Click the switch beside ‘Hide when empty’ to automatically hide the notifications feed once it is empty.
- Click the x to dismiss every unread notification:
Change In-App Notification Settings
All notification settings can be changed via the Preferences page. You can choose to enable a notification sound and receive in-app notifications as desktop alerts. To adjust these settings:
- Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of MeisterTask.
- Select Notifications from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll down to the In-App Notifications header.
- Check/uncheck the boxes marked "Play sounds" or "Send a desktop notification."
Change E-Mail Notification Settings
E-Mail Notifications Settings can be changed via the Preferences page. Select from the options below to receive as many (or as few) e-mails as you'd like.
You can choose to receive e-mail notifications:
- When another user mentions you or comments on a task you follow
- When another user reacts to a comment you've posted
- When a new task is assigned to you
- 24 Hours before a task assigned to you is due
- As periodic summaries of your activity in MeisterTask
To change e-mail notification settings:
- Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of MeisterTask.
- Select Notifications from the drop-down menu.
- Ensure that Notifications is selected in the left sidebar.
- Check the boxes under the "E-mail me about..." header to select your preferences.
Due Date Notifications:
If you've been assigned a task, MeisterTask will send you an e-mail notification to alert you 24 hours before a task's due date. If you're using MeisterTask's mobile app, you can also enable push notifications to remind you of upcoming due dates and choose precisely when you'd like to be reminded, whether a week before the due date or 5 minutes before the deadline. Enable Due Date Reminders on MeisterTask Mobile
If you're using MeisterTask's mobile app, you can enable push notifications to receive reminders before the due dates of all tasks assigned to you. To enable these notifications:
- Open the MeisterTask mobile app.
- On the dashboard, tap your user avatar to open the My Account menu.
- Scroll down and tap Reminders.
- Choose when you'd like to be reminded. Select from anywhere between 5 minutes to one week before the deadline.

You can manage pop-up and badge notifications for your mobile application under the application settings on your mobile device.
