All Meister accounts, whether for MeisterTask or MindMeister, are owned by the person who purchased the account's license. This includes all data associated with this account.
This means that if your license was purchased by your company, organization, or another team member, your account and all its associated data are the property of the individual who purchased your license. As a company, we are legally responsible to the account owner only.
Transfer Ownership of an Account
Meister will never allow another individual to take ownership your account without your consent. If you would like to transfer ownership of your account or any individual projects within your account, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Meister Support. We're more than happy to help!
What if the account owner is unavailable?
Meister is legally responsible for the privacy and data security requirements of the account owner. If your account owner is out of the country, on sabbatical, or otherwise unavailable, we will be unable to transfer the account or give any other information without the owner's permission.
In any case, we recommend contacting the current account owner. Ask them to log in and contact us through their account's support page.
Legal steps about intellectual property of the respective company need to be resolved between employer and employee. We will of course adhere to any legal decisions through arbitration or court ruling and turn the data over to the respective party.
