You're using the new views for projects in MeisterTask!
We’ve redesigned the board and list views in your projects, and rebuilt the project timeline. The views are currently in beta, and are gradually rolling out to all accounts in Q4 2026. These updates make popular actions easier to access, add a bunch of helpful improvements, and level up the reliability of the most-used parts of MeisterTask.
Here's what's new, what's moved, and what stays the same.
The new views are in beta. You can share feedback or switch back to the old views at any time. Learn more below.
Board and list views
What's new
- Edit tasks without opening them: change the assignee, due date or tags right on a card or list row.
- Right-click for quick actions: right-click any card to open a menu of task actions.
- A new filter bar: filters now sit in a bar above your tasks. Each active filter shows as a chip, so you can see what's applied at a glance.
- Group and sort your list: group tasks by section, assignee, due date or status. Sort by any column, and choose which columns to show.
- Set up your view your way: choose a spaced or compact layout. Your layout, grouping, columns and sorting are saved for you in each project.
- See how your project is going: the new Insights panel drafts a status update for you with AI, and shows a "burn-up" chart of your progress.
- Work from your keyboard: every action works without a mouse, including drag and drop and selecting multiple tasks.
- A fresh look: redesigned task cards and section headers that match the rest of MeisterTask.
What's moved
| Before | Now | |
| Filters | In the sidebar on the right | In the filter bar above your tasks |
| Filter by team member | Click a member's avatar on the right of the board | No longer available |

What stays the same
Your tasks, sections and project settings don't change. Keyboard shortcuts, drag and drop, and selecting multiple tasks all work as before.
Timeline
The project timeline is rebuilt too. For the first time, you can see how your tasks connect, right on this screen.
The timeline is available on Business and Enterprise plans. To use it in a project, make sure that Timing and Scheduling is turned on under Project settings > Power-Ups.
What's new
- See how tasks connect: icons show which tasks are blocked, which are blocking and which are subtasks. A dotted line joins related tasks. Hover over a task to see all its relations.
- Subtasks sit under their parent: subtasks appear one level in, and you can collapse them. If a parent task has no dates, give it its subtasks' dates in one click. Until then, it shows as a gray bar based on its subtasks.
- Every task has a row: tasks with and without dates both appear. To give a task dates, click its date icon or draw on its row. You can also pick or create a task from any empty row.
- Due dates on the chart: due dates show as diamonds. Drag them to change the date.
- Move several tasks at once: select tasks and drag them together. Their due dates move with them.
- Easier to read: today and weekends are highlighted, and each bar shows the assignee's photo.
What hasn't changed
- Moving a task doesn't move the dates of related tasks.
- The timeline isn't available in the mobile apps.
