The MeisterTask-Microsoft Teams integration was discontinued on July 31, 2024. This also applies to the Microsoft 365 Groups Automation.
What is the MeisterTask-Microsoft Teams Integration?
MeisterTask was available as a tab in Microsoft Teams, to which you could add any of your team's channels. This allowed you to display and manage project boards without ever leaving Microsoft Teams.
The MindMeister-Microsoft Teams integration will continue to function normally.
Why Are We Discontinuing the MeisterTask Integration for Microsoft Team?
Microsoft recently updated Microsoft Teams, unfortunately impacting the functionality of the MeisterTask integration. Some features are no longer compatible, and due to the relatively low usage of the integration, Meister has decided to discontinue this integration on July 31, 2024.
We will instead continue to focus on improving the core functionality of MeisterTask to provide a better experience for all users.
What Do I Need To Do?
Please note that your project will no longer be displayed or working properly in Microsoft Teams but will continue to function normally within MeisterTask. You can still access it via www.meistertask.com.
You don't need to take any action. Alternatively, you can replace the tab in the Microsoft Teams channel with a link to the website displaying your current MeisterTask project.
Follow these steps to quickly open the MeisterTask project in another tab from the Microsoft Teams channel. To do this:
- Select the plus icon to add a tab to your Microsoft Teams channel.
- Select Website.
- Copy & paste the Share Link of your MeisterTask project.
- To open your project, click the new tab and choose "Open in a new window" or “Open in browser”.
Here are some resources you might find helpful:
- Connect MeisterTask and Microsoft Teams using Zapier to update Microsoft Teams channels when actions occur in MeisterTask (or vice-versa).
- Improve your workflow using MeisterTask’s Outlook integration to create tasks directly from your Outlook mailbox.
This decision was not made lightly, and we understand it may impact your workflow. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our priority remains to provide an exceptional user experience, and we're grateful for your understanding and continued support.
