What Happens if I Downgrade My Plan?

When you downgrade and change your MeisterTask plan, the availability of certain features and functionalities will change based on the new plan you choose. You can compare all our plans here. Below are detailed explanations of what happens when you downgrade from Business to Basic, Business to Pro, and Pro to Basic.

What happens if I downgrade my license from the Business plan to the Basic plan?

On the Basic plan, you will no longer be able to:

Create an unlimited number of projects
Create new private projects
Invite external collaborators who are not on your team to your projects
Assign different roles and permissions on project and team level
Create new automations
Create new subtasks
Create new custom reports or view custom reports you created on a paid plan
Attach new files larger than 20 MB to tasks
Create new project groups
Create new multiple checklists
Schedule tasks and view the timeline
Pin tasks to the agenda

If you have already used or set up some of these features, the following changes will apply:

Access to projects: You will keep access to all of your existing projects. However, you will only be able to view and edit the three oldest projects in the team. Any additional projects will be visible as read-only projects.
External collaborators: All collaborators who are not part of your team will be removed from your projects.
Automations: These will no longer be available. All recurring task automations will be deleted.
Roles and permissions: All assigned roles and permissions on team and project level will stay unchanged. Roles can no longer be changed.
Scheduled tasks: Scheduled tasks will have the scheduled date visible in the sidebar.
Custom fields: Existing custom fields will still be visible and usable. However, you will not be able to delete, reorder, or edit them.
Subtasks: Existing subtasks will still be available.
Custom reports: Existing custom reports will no longer be available.
Security restrictions: Any security restrictions you’ve set will continue to function; however, you won’t be able to change them.
Private projects: Existing private projects will continue to be private.
Attachments: Existing files >20 MB will still be accessible from your tasks and can be downloaded.
Agenda: Custom pins and pinned tasks will be available as read-only items in the Agenda.
Custom background: Your chosen background will stay visible. It can be deleted and exchanged with a limited number of other options.
Project groups: You will still be able to view existing project groups and move projects to and from existing groups.
Multiple checklists: Existing multiple checklists will still be visible. You will be able to edit/update them.

What happens if I downgrade from the Business to the Pro plan?

On the Pro plan, you will no longer be able to:

Create new subtasks
Create new custom reports
Create new custom fields
Assign different roles and permissions
Schedule tasks and view the timeline

If you have already used or set up some of these features, the following changes will apply:

Custom fields: Existing custom fields will still be visible and usable. However, you will not be able to delete, reorder, or edit them.
Custom reports: You will lose access to Custom Reports. You will still be able to view the Custom Reports that you have already saved.
