Time Tracking on Android

This feature is available to all users

Use Time Tracking on Android to keep track of the time you and your team members have spent working on specific tasks.

Start/Stop Tracking Your Time:

Enable Time Tracking

Before you can start tracking your time, you'll need to enable time tracking for your project in the web app. Note – enabling time tracking works on a project-by-project basis. For more information on how to do this, read this article.

To start or stop tracking your time:

    1. Open the task you'd like to track time on.
    2. Tap the stopwatch icon in the upper-right corner of the task window to begin tracking your time.
    3. Tap the icon again to immediately quit tracking your time.

Background Time Tracking

Once started, time tracking will run continuously in the background. A red stopwatch and timer will appear on the task you're tracking time on.

View Your Time Slips

The time you and your teammates have spent working on a task are logged in time slips. To view your team's time slips:

  1. Open the task on which you've tracked time.
  2. Scroll down and tap Time Tracking.
  3. Your time slips will be visualized in a simple diagram showing your team's work over the past week (see below). Your own tracked time is shown in red, while the total time tracked by your entire team is shown in gray.
  4. Below this graph, you'll see a list of all team members who have tracked time working on this task. Tap the name of the contributing team member to view details on their tracked time.

Transparent Time Tracking

In MeisterTask's Android app, you can view both your own time slips and those from other team members. However, you can only edit your own time slips

Manually Edit/Add Time Slips

You can manually add or edit time slips to adjust the amount of time you've logged working on a task. To do this:

  1. Open the task on which you've tracked time.
  2. Scroll down and tap Time Tracking.
  3. Tap your name.
  4. Tap Add Time Interval to create a new time slip, or tap on an existing interval to edit or delete it.
