What will new users with my organization's domain see at sign-up?

New MeisterTask users with your organization's domain will be given the option to join your team. They will NOT be added to your team automatically.

If your domain includes multiple MeisterTask teams, new users will be given the option to choose which team they'd like to join:

Users can choose only one of three options. While more options might be available, only the three largest, oldest teams are displayed.

If the correct team is not one of these three, please ask your Team Administrator to invite you manually.

Joining a Team with the Same Email Domain

This option is available to all Basic users.

If you are the sole member of your team on a Basic plan, you can join another team that shares your email domain. If your email domain matches that of another team, you’ll see an option to join the team in the My Team popover on the Dashboard.

To join the other team:

  1. Open the Dashboard.
  2. Click on the team icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Click Join Team.
  4. You will see a list of available teams (between 1 and 3). Select the team you wish to join and click Join Team.

Please note that joining another team has significant consequences for the ownership of your data, including projects, notes, and mind maps. Learn more about ownership.

Joining another team via the popover on the Dashboard is only possible if the other team has domain-based team join enabled. Learn more about enabling domain-based team join.

If the correct team is not one of these shown options, please ask your Team Administrator to invite you manually. Learn more about team invitations.

Why can't my organization's domain be added immediately?

To ensure data security, Meister may need to verify that your team can legally use the requested domain. In certain cases, this may cause a delay of a few days before your domain can be connected to MeisterTask.

Will I be billed for new users joining my team?

If you the administrator of a free (Basic) MeisterTask team, you will not be billed for additional users.

If you are the administrator of a paid (Pro or Business) MeisterTask team, you will be billed for additional users. Team admins will receive an e-mail notification notifying them that they will be billed for their new joiner in 7 days.

What happens if a new team member tries to join an existing, paid team that has no open seats or available licenses?

If the team admin of the existing team has enabled Domain-Based Team Joining, the new team member will be automatically added to the team as soon as they click the team invite link. The team admin(s) will receive an automated email notification about the new addition, as well as an additional email outlining the billing details.

When a team member is added to the other, existing account, the automated billing system is automatically updated to reflect the new number of users. There is a 7-day grace period between adding the user to the team and Meister billing the new team. This means that any changes in your team size are reflected in your invoice after this 7-day grace period. Learn more about how to undo this here.
