This function is available to all Content Managers in their respective project.
When new colleagues join your MeisterTask team, this does not automatically mean that they have access to all relevant projects.
As the Content Manager of a project, it is your responsibility to ensure that new team members join the right projects and can contribute directly.
This guide will help you to integrate new members into your project structure in a targeted and efficient manner.
Why do team members need to join projects separately?
Even if users are already part of the team, they must be invited separately for each project or join independently. This separation offers maximum flexibility, it protects sensitive content and at the same time allows a targeted project organization.
Private Projects vs Team Projects
In MeisterTask there are Team Projects and Private Projects:
- a) Team projects are visible to the whole team. They are visible to everyone in the left sidebar under Projects.
- b) Private projects are only visible and accessible to invited users.
Even if someone is already part of the team, he or she must be invited separately for each private project in order to be able to collaborate.
Step 1: Add members to the project
To invite users to an existing project:
- Open the desired project in the left sidebar.
- Click on the project name and select Project settings.
- Switch to the Sharing tab.
- Enter the email address or the name of the new user.
- Click on the plus symbol.
- Optional: Select the appropriate project role from the drop-down menu.
- Click on Share.
Repeat this for all relevant projects (and also notes).
Step 2 (Optional): Facilitate and support onboarding
As a project manager, you can facilitate the onboarding process for your colleagues as follows:
- Introductory tasks: Create the first tasks and assign them to the new users. The new user receives a notification in MeisterTask.
- and or mention new project members via comments in important tasks (with @name)
