These features are available to all users
You can create, delete, and duplicate tasks directly from the MeisterTask Android app. Business and Enterprise users can also schedule tasks on their Timeline.
Create a Task
To create a task directly from your MeisterTask app:
- Tap the blue plus icon.
- Select New Task.
- Enter a new task name and (optionally) a description.
- Select an existing project where you want to place the task.
- Projects usually consist of several columns. So now select a column from the project you selected above where you want to add the task.
- Then click Create. (Where is the task now? You can find the task again at any time by tapping Projects at the bottom of the navigation bar and selecting the project you specified earlier. Swipe left to go to the column where the task is placed.)
Search for Tasks, Projects and Notes
Tap the search icon anywhere in the app to search across your account. Results include tasks, projects and notes, grouped by type.
Before you type anything, the search screen shows your Recent items: the most recently opened tasks, projects and notes. Each category shows up to three results at a time — tap Show more below a category to see all results of that type.
When your search term appears inside a note, the note is listed together with the matching sections, so you can jump straight to the part that contains your keyword.
Filter Your Results by Task Status
When you filter your results to Tasks, additional status filters appear: Active, Archived and Deleted. You can select more than one at a time, for example to see active and archived tasks together.
Filtering to Archived or Deleted is how you find tasks that no longer appear on your project board.
Available on Pro and above
The Active, Archived and Deleted filters — and therefore access to archived and deleted tasks from search — require a Pro plan or higher. On the free plan, tapping these filters shows an upgrade prompt.
Search While You're Offline
If your device is offline or a search request fails, the app searches the content stored on your device instead. Offline search covers:
- Tasks — matched on title, checklist, tags, notes and assignee, with both full and partial matches
- Projects — matched on project name and project notes
- Notes — matched on the note title only
Offline search only covers content already stored on your device, so some results may be missing until your connection is restored.
Delete a Task
To delete a task:
-
Open the task you want to delete.
Tip
Tap the search button in the top-right corner of your screen to search your tasks, projects and notes, and filter to Tasks to find the one you need.
- Tap the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Delete Task.
- Tap Delete to confirm.
Restoring a Deleted Task
You can find deleted tasks in the Android app by opening search, filtering to Tasks and selecting the Deleted status filter. To restore a deleted task, use the web app. Read here to find out how.
Finding deleted tasks requires Pro or above
Because deleted tasks are found through the Deleted status filter, viewing them in the Android app requires a Pro plan or higher.
Move a Task
You can drag and drop individual tasks tiles to move them across your project board.
Duplicate a Task
- Open the task you want to duplicate.
- Tap the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Duplicate Task. Your duplicated task will appear in the same section as the original.
Schedule a Task on Your Timeline
This feature is available to Business users
Enable Timeline
Before you can begin scheduling on the Android app, you'll need to enable Timeline using MeisterTask's web app. Learn how here.
To schedule a task and add it to your Timeline:
- Open a task, scroll down and tap Not Scheduled.
- Pick a start and end date for your project. The end date does not have to be the same as your due date!
- Tap Save.
Remember!
You cannot view your Timeline on the mobile app. Scheduling a task from the mobile app means it will become visible on your web app Timeline view.
