This feature is available to all users
On Pro plans, any member of a project can manage project members.
On Business plans with roles and permissions enabled, only project administrators can manage project members. Read more about roles and permissions here.
Add Project Members
You can invite an unlimited amount of users to collaborate on a project. To add project members on iOS:
- Open your project by navigating to the Projects tab (just tap the rocket icon at the bottom of your screen).
- Tap the project name at the top of your screen to open the Project Info menu.
- Tap Members, then tap the blue plus (+) on the top-right corner of your display.
- Enter the name or email address of the user you'd like to invite.
- Tap Invite.
Remove Project Members
To immediately revoke project members' access to your project:
- Open your project by navigating to the Projects tab (click the small rocket icon at the bottom of your screen).
- Tap the project name at the top of your screen to open the Project Info menu.
- Tap Members and scroll down to the name of the colleague you'd like to remove.
- Swipe left on their name and tap Delete.
Change Permissions
MeisterTask project roles include: Read Only, Member, Administrator, Commenter and Guest. You can change roles and permissions if you are a project administrator.
To change a colleague's role:
- Open your project.
- Tap the project name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Members, then tap a colleague's name.

Choose an option from the the list of roles.
Downgrading Task Assignees
If you downgrade a task assignee to a the read-only role, you will have to unassign or reassign the tasks currently assigned to him/her. A window providing these options will automatically open.
View and Invite User Groups
User groups let you quickly share projects with a specific group of users within your team. You can only create user groups on the web app. In iOS, you can view user groups and their members and invite user groups to a project.
To view user groups and their members:
- Open a project.
- Tap the project name to open the Project Info menu.
- Tap Members from the menu.
- View user groups at the top of the Members menu - you can also see the user groups' designated role and number of members.
- Click on a user group to view each of the members.
To invite a user group to your project:
- Open a project.
- Click the project name to open the Project Info menu.
- Tap Members.
- Click the blue plus in the top-right corner.
- Type the name of a user group and click to confirm it when it appears.
- Click Invite in the top-right corner.
