Board View and List View in Projects

This feature is available to all users.

MeisterTask offers two main views for all the tasks in a project: Board view and List view. Users can switch between these views to fit their project management style and needs.

What is Board View?

Board view displays all tasks in a Kanban-style layout, with each task represented as an individual tile. The board is organized into columns, each representing a different status in the workflow (e.g., To Do, In Progress, Done).

Board view is ideal for teams that prefer a high-level, visual overview of tasks moving through stages.

This is the default view of all projects:

What is List View?

List view in MeisterTask offers a clear and easy-to-read list of all tasks within a project. This view displays tasks in a simple, vertical list format, resembling a spreadsheet in which you can quickly see details like assignees, due dates, and more. You also have the option to collapse each section for a more focused view.

You can switch from Board view to List view anytime.

Some features are only available in the Board view and are not supported in List view. The following options are not available in List view:

  • Rename columns: The names of the columns cannot be changed.
  • Column design: The color and icon of the column cannot be changed.
  • Sort tasks: The tasks cannot be sorted via the column menu (e.g. by creation date). (Tasks can be moved via drag & drop).
  • Rearrange columns: Columns cannot be moved via drag & drop.
  • Set automations: No automations can be added or edited in the columns. (Existing automations work correctly).
  • Set WIP limit (Work-in-Progress): It is not possible to display or edit the limit in the columns.

Please switch to the board view to apply or edit these functions.
