Adjust Team Security Settings

This article only applies to Team Admins

Which Security Settings Are Available on My Subscription Plan?

    Allow users to log in to MeisterTask using your organization’s custom identity profile.

Restrict Project Sharing

This feature is only available to Pro team administrators.


Team administrators on a Pro plan can restrict which users can be invited to their organization's projects. Sharing can be to restricted to your team or to users with specified e-mail domains. To restrict project invites:

  1. Visit the team settings page (only available to team administrators).
  2. Select the Permissions tab.
  3. Scroll down to MeisterTask Restrictions and select Edit.
  4. Choose your preferred sharing options. Multiple e-mail domains can be separated with commas.
  5. Click Save changes.

Set an E-Mail Domain For Your Team

This feature is only available to Pro team administrators.


Pro
team admins can set a pre-approved e-mail domain for their team. New users whose e-mail address matches the specified domain (e.g. susan@yourcompany.com) will be automatically added to your team. To set an e-mail domain:

 

  1. Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Click Settings under My Team on the left side of the Accounts page.
  4. Switch to the Sign Up tab.
  5. Select Email addresses from the following domains.
  6. Enter your organization's domain (@domain.com). Separate multiple domains with a comma.
  7. Click Save Changes.

Set a Customized Login Domain

This feature is only available to Business team administrators.


Business team admins can set up a customized login domain to allow their team to access MeisterTask via a customized URL (e.g. yourcompany.meistertask.com). To set up a customized domain for your team:

 

  1. Visit the team settings page (only available to team administrators).
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Enter your preferred domain in the text field labeled "Login Domain."
  4. Scroll down and click Save Changes.

Set IP Address Restrictions

This feature is only available to Business team administrators.


Business team admins can restrict access to their team's projects by making them only accessible from certain IP ranges (e.g. from company headquarters). To set this up:

 

  1. Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Click Settings under My Team on the left sidebar.
  4. Switch to the Permissions tab.
  5. In the text field below the "Restrict Access" header, enter either single IP addresses or ranges. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
    (ex: 8.8.8.8, 4.4.4.4/12) 
  6. Once you're finished, click Save Changes.

Warning

Entering the wrong IP address will cause an immediate lock out!


Set Custom Feature Restrictions

This feature is only available to Business team administrators.

Business team admins can restrict their team from accessing certain advanced features in MeisterTask, including integrationsreports, external attachments and project invite suggestions. To set these permissions:

 

  1. Visit the team settings page (only available to team administrators).
  2. Select the Permissions tab.
  3. Scroll down to MeisterTask Restrictions and select Edit.
  4. Uncheck the boxes next to the features you'd like to disable.
  5. Click Save changes.

Set Default Project Type

This feature is only available to Business team administrators.


Business
team admins can choose whether their team creates team projects or private projects by default. To do this:

  1. Visit the team settings page (only available to team administrators).
  2. Select the Permissions tab.
  3. Scroll down to MeisterTask Restrictions and select Edit.
  4. Choose your team's default project type.
  5. Click Save changes.

Set User Display Names

This feature is only available to Business team administrators.


By default, only users' first names are displayed in MeisterTask projects. Team administrators can choose to show users' full names instead. To do this:

 

  1. Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
  2. Select Account to access the Accounts page.
  3. Click Settings under My Team on the left side of the Accounts page.
  4. Scroll down to the Display Names header.
  5. Check the box marked "Show full names instead of first names."
  6. Click Save Changes.
