Setting for Team Invitations
By default, only invited users can join your team in MeisterTask.
Alternatively, Team Admins can also choose to have all newly registered users whose email domain matches an approved domain automatically added to the team when that user wants to join the team.
- Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
- Select Account.
- Click My Team on the left side of the Accounts page.
- Click Sign Up Mode in the left sidebar.
- Select either Invitations only or Anyone with a specific domain.
- Click Save Changes.
You have now specified that users can not only a) join the team via a personal team invitation, or b) add themselves to the team independently (without a direct team invitation).
Restrict Project Invitations
Team Admins can restrict which users can be invited to their project. Sharing can be restricted to your team or to users with specific email domains. To restrict sharing:
- Go to the My Team page (only available for team admins)
- Click on Permissions.
- Scroll down to MeisterTask Restrictions and click Edit.
- Select your desired sharing restrictions, e.g. Only these email domains
- Type in the domain(s).
- Click on Save.
You have now successfully defined that only users with this email address(es) can be invited to projects. Content managers can no longer invite users to their projects who have an email address with a different domain. If they try to invite such a user, they will receive a warning.
Difference between team invitation and project invitation
An invitation to a team does not automatically mean that the user can access all of the team's projects. Access depends on the type of project:
- Private projects: A separate project invitation is required for the user to gain access.
- Team projects: The user either needs a direct project invitation or can join the project independently. (Team projects are visible to all team members in the left sidebar).
Note: Project sharing via link
Users can also join a project via a sharing link. Restrictions that apply to project invitations have no effect on the project share link. Any user who has the project share link can join the project immediately.
Set IP Address Restrictions
This feature is only available to Business team administrators.
Business team admins can restrict access to their team's projects by making them only accessible from certain IP ranges (e.g. from company headquarters). To set this up:
- Click your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
- Select Account.
- Click Settings under My Team on the left sidebar.
- Switch to the Permissions tab.
- In the text field below the "Restrict Access" header, enter either single IP addresses or ranges. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
(ex: 8.8.8.8, 4.4.4.4/12) - Once you're finished, click Save Changes.
Warning
Entering the wrong IP address will cause an immediate lock out!

Restrict File Uploads
This feature is only available to Business team administrators.
By default, all users can upload and attach files to tasks. Team administrators can choose to disable uploading local files for all projects and team members.
If disabled, no one on the team will be able to:

Warning
This change does not affect files that have already been uploaded to tasks. Existing file attachments will still be available for viewing and downloading.
By default, all users can also attach files from external services. Team administrators can choose to restrict the ability to link to other resources in the attachments. This affects links to files on Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, and any other link attached to the task. (This does not affect any links that are inserted via Markdown in the task description.)
To do this:
- Select your user avatar in the top-right corner of the MeisterTask interface.
- Select Account to access the Accounts page.
- Select My Team on the left side.
- Choose Permissions.
